On Trinidad

The journey continues. On April 15 I arrived back on the Caribbean island of Martinique after almost four months.
I continued by boat to St. Lucia and then on to Trinidad, arriving just in time to catch the nesting season of the leatherback turtles. I immediately made my way to the northeast of the island, to the beach of Rivera Grande. At this time of year the enormous animals weighing up to 700 kg come onto the beach to lay their eggs. Using my improved infrared equipment, I was able to capture the entire process on film.
The next morning I was able to film several stragglers in the half-light of dawn.
