Successful film night at False Creek Yacht Club

The first screening of “Hitchhiking across the Atlantic” in Vancouver filled the lounge of the False Creek Yacht Club. Thanks to the yacht club for their support and to Zimt Artisan Chocolates for providing a delicious door prize.

The scene: Thurs. Oct. 25, 7:15pm, in the lounge of the False Creek Yacht Club. About a dozen people were eagerly awaiting the start of our film “Hitchhiking across the Atlantic.” Then, mere minutes before the scheduled start at 7:30pm, more and more people began to stream in. After a quick rearrangement of chairs and tables, everyone found a seat with a clear view of the screen. Laura Winter, a marine ecologist and our co-producer, welcomed the guests, and the show started. With good food, good drinks and a captivating film followed by engaging discussion, it was a successful evening.

We would like to thank the False Creek Yacht Club for their support and assistance in making this evening a success. We also wish to acknowledge the help of several volunteers who made sure the evening ran smoothly. Finally, Zimt Artisan Chocolates provided a bag of their mouthwatering macaroons as a door prize. You can find their raw, vegan, fairly traded, organic, eco-friendly chocolates (can it get any better?) at various stores in BC or order them online at www.zimt.ca
